Undergraduate Programs . The program will offer structured curriculum in physiology, biostatistics and epigenetics, to increase the ability of students to compete successfully for admission to the Keck School of Medicine. Students will have the opportunity to shadow at one of our affiliated hospitals, such as Keck Hospital of USC, LAC+USC Medical Center and Children. They will also attend workshops, including financial aid and understanding the admissions process, and be paired with current Keck School students who will serve as peer mentors. Scholars will receive a stipend and be provided with university housing.

The Bridging the Gaps Summer Research Program provides outstanding minority students with a bench- to- bedside experience immersed in scientific investigation for eight weeks. The program’s aim is to address the underrepresentation of minority students within medicine and the biological sciences. The ultimate goal is that the majority of these students will want to pursue their medical or graduate studies in the biological sciences at Keck. In order to be eligible for the program, the candidate must be an underrepresented minority, as designated by the NIH, who has completed the first two years of undergraduate studies at the time of matriculation at a four- year accredited institution. Selection will be based on the student.
